SEATTLE (AP) – Felix Hernandez threw seven shutout innings to become the third pitcher with at least 11 wins before the All-Star break, Logan Morrison hit the first leadoff home run of his career and the Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-2 last night. Seattle opened a key four-game series before the break by cooling off the surging Angels, who had won the first five games of their road trip. The Mariners had a season-high 19 hits.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Zack Greinke allowed one hit in eight innings, extending his career-high scoreless streak to 35 2-3 innings and lowering his major league-best ERA to 1.39 in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 6-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies last night. Adrian Gonzalez hit a two-run homer and Yasiel Puig ended an RBI drought of 51 at-bats with a two-run homer and two-run double for the NL West leaders.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers and point guard Damian Lillard have completed the five-year contract extension worth more than $120 million they agreed to last week. The Blazers also announced the deals with free agents Al-Farouq Aminu and Ed Davis yesterday. The team held news conferences for all three in Portland.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) – The San Antonio Spurs has announced the addition of forward LaMarcus Aldridge. The 6-11 Aldridge spent his first nine NBA seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. Last year, he averaged a career-high 23.4 points per game along with 10.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
