SEATTLE (AP) – Robinson Cano lined an RBI single into the right-field corner with one out in the 11th inning, giving the Seattle Mariners a 7-6 win over the Detroit Tigers last night. Cano lined a 2-1 pitch from Detroit left-hander Ian Krol (1-2) that one-hopped off the wall. It was the first walk-off hit for Cano since Aug. 28, 2009, with the New York Yankees.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -The Portland Timbers will be working this week to prepare for their game against the Philadelphia Union. The Timbers hope to keep up the momentum they gained on Sunday in their 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes.

UNDATED (AP) -The Seattle Sounders will travel to Illinois to face off against the Chicago Fire this Saturday. The Sounders are coming off a 1-0 victory over the DC United. Chicago is coming off a 1-1 tie against the Houston Dynamo.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Four boys accused of playing with fire and starting a massive blaze that destroyed Eugene, Oregon’s historic Civic Stadium are facing more serious charges. The Register-Guard newspaper of Eugene reports that the boys, one who’s 10 and the others 12, were charged with first-degree arson and reckless endangerment. Investigators say the boys were playing with fire June 29 and then fled when the flames got out of control. The panicked boys jumped a chain-link fence as the flames spread, hopped on their bicycles and fled.
