Three Rivers goes 3-2 at Seattle tourney

After losing Thursday’s opening game to the EnFuego Elite, the Three Rivers Sandblasters won their next three straight games at the Mickey Merriam Tournament in Seattle.

That put them in the tournament championship game against the Elite once again where EnFuego came out on top 12-nothing yesterday.

In between, the ‘Blasters downed the Seattle Braves 7-3, the En Fuego Futures 6-5, and the Queen City Reds 8-nothing.

The Sandblasters return to American Legion Zone Three competition tomorrow in Monmouth against the DeMarini Dirtbags.

Emeralds snap two game losing streak

The Eugene Emeralds snapped a two game losing streak with a six-run shutout win over the Vancouver Canadians yesterday at PK Park. The Canucks won the opening game of the five-game series Saturday night 5-4. The Ems also lost Friday night by the same score, 5-4, to the Hillsboro Hops. The Canadians and the Emeralds meet tonight in Eugene.
