BOISE, Idaho (AP) – A 14-year-old died and his parents were injured in a house fire near Adrian, Oregon. KTVB-TV reports firefighters responded from Adrian to the house Sunday morning and found the home engulfed in flames. The teenage boy died at the scene. His parents were taken by air ambulance to Boise and later transferred to a burn center in Salt Lake City.

DRAIN, Ore. (AP) – A Drain man is in custody for investigation of murder after the death of his girlfriend. The Coos Bay World reports that 51-year-old Greg Solberg has been charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend 44-year-old Tonya Fullen. Solberg is being held at Douglas County jail. A cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say a man stabbed a police officer and was shot early Sunday in northeast Portland. The officer and the male suspect were taken to Portland hospitals with injuries not considered life-threatening. Their identities were not released. It was not clear what led to the incident.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Jack Jewsbury scored in second-half stoppage time to give the Portland Timbers a 1-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes last night. San Jose was unable to clear a free kick in its area, which gave Jewsbury the chance run in and make a jumping shot. Portland has now won six of its last seven MLS matches.
