Crisis team opens school for classmates of drowning victim

Administrators at Siuslaw High School have set up a crisis team that will be available from four to eight pm today, then again tomorrow from ten until two for friends and classmates of Jose Dela Mora.

Superintendent Ethel Angal said counselors will be on hand for anyone who wants to talk. She added there will be food and

students can just come and be together if they need.

A fund drive for the family of the 17-year old senior at Siuslaw High School has been organized. Joni Holton, a retired school employee has organized the drive. Holton says instead of going out to dinner this weekend, take the money you would have spent and drop it off tomorrow at Rosa’s Cantina.

The restaurant, owned by Jose’s family, is closed this evening. Holton said someone will be on hand tomorrow to accept donations.
