TUMALO, Ore. The Bend Bulletin reports that the Oregon Board of Pharmacy placed the Tumalo Pharmacy and its pharmacist under emergency suspension last week while it investigates.

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) – A former instructor at the Tongue Point Jobs Corps center in Astoria is claiming sexual and disability discrimination against her employer. The Daily Astorian reports that Deborah Ferguson says she was fired from the federal career training program because of issues related to her disability and gender about a week after returning to work from knee replacement surgery.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – The organizers of the bicycle event called Oregon Outback say there won’t be another ride through Central Oregon because of the mess that riders left behind this year. The Bend Bulletin reports that riders left trash in a barn that a resident of the town Silver Lake opened up and human waste in the yard of a family that had given them shelter. The bikepacking ride was begun in 2013 and held on Memorial Day weekend.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The city of Eugene says it will start offering loans to artists, businesses and art organizations that often can’t get traditional bank loans. The Register-Guard newspaper reports that the loan program has been created thanks to a $100,000 anonymous private donation and a $50,000 earmark from the city’s business loan fund. The loans are expected to range from $5,000 to $50,000 each.
