HOUSTON (AP) – Rookie Lance McCullers and four relievers combined for a two-hitter and Evan Gattis tied a career high with four hits, helping the Houston Astros cruise to a 13-0 win over the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Joe Thatcher allowed one hit in the seventh, Will Harris threw a perfect eighth and Josh Fields completed the shutout.

HOUSTON (AP) – Houston All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve was out for the second straight game yesterday against the Mariners with a hamstring injury and Seattle left fielder Mark Trumbo was scratched with back spasms. Altuve, who won last year’s AL batting title, is hitting .290 with five homers and 27 RBIs.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Abby Bishop scored 13 of her career-high 18 points in the second half and the Seattle Storm rallied to beat the Los Angeles Sparks 60-54 yesterday. Bishop scored back-to-back baskets to put the Storm (2-2) up 53-50 with 4:18 left in the game – their first lead since the opening minutes. The rookie and No. 1 draft pick Jewell Loyd added Seattle’s final six points to help them snap a two-game losing streak.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Stephen Curry scored 37 points and the Golden State Warriors took a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals with a 104-91 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. Curry had 17 in the fourth quarter, including seven straight to put away the game after Cleveland got within eight points in the final 2 minutes. The Warriors can win their first championship since 1975 with a victory tomorrow in Cleveland.
