Women’s Softball World Series

The top eight college softball teams are in Oklahoma City this week. One of those teams is from the University of Oregon. The Ducks are the number two ranked team in the country right now. They’ll take on number seven seed UCLA tomorrow evening in the opening day of the Women’s College World Series.

Former Viking won’t be in NCAA Baseball Regionals

Oregon State baseball is entering its seventh straight post season this week. When they play in the Dallas, Texas regional they’ll be doing it without right-handed pitcher Jake Thompson. The Florence native has had limited playing time this season due to injuries. He was coming off a stress fracture in his foot early in the year, then injured his shoulder in the preseason.   After a strong post season last year the 2013 Siuslaw Grad was a strong candidate to start on Saturdays for the Beavers.
