SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A proposal advancing in the Oregon Legislature would close a loophole in state law that allowed a man to go unpunished after taking photos up a teenager’s skirt. The state Senate unanimously passed the measure yesterday, three months after an Oregon judge ruled a 61-year-old man did nothing illegal when he snapped photos up a teen’s skirt in a Target store. The Oregon proposal heads back to the House for consensus.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Hundreds of people rallied at the Oregon Capitol calling on Gov. Kate Brown to block two proposed liquefied natural gas export terminals in the state. The Statesman Journal reports a Canadian company wants to build an export terminal in Coos Bay to receive natural gas through a 232-mile-long pipeline. Critics say the line would cross private property, affecting about 700 landowners. It would also cross 400 bodies of water containing threatened or endangered species.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Multnomah County sheriff’s deputies say a body found floating in the Willamette River has been identified as that of a Portland woman. They say Marie Louise Dexter drowned and there were no signs of foul play. Her body was recovered Friday after a passer-by spotted it floating near a dock north of the Steel Bridge in Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police have recovered costumes stolen from a student-musical production of “The Pirates of Penzance” at the old Oregon City High School. The Oregonian reports that members of the troupe discovered Monday evening that two pirate costumes and some concessions were gone. Police says officers caught two juveniles shortly after midnight Monday morning as they were trying the leave the school.
