  1. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Robinson Cano drove in two runs, Roenis Elias threw six solid innings and the Seattle Mariners beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 last night. Seattle took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles by Cano and Nelson Cruz. Cano entered the game hitless in his previous 12 at-bats. He made it 3-1 on a run-scoring single in the eighth. Seattle went up 4-1 in the ninth on Mike Zunino’s solo homer.

QUEBEC CITY (AP) – Nick Merkley, Gage Quinney and Leon Draisaitl each scored two goals and the Kelowna Rockets beat the Rimouski Oceanic 7-3 last night in the Memorial Cup. Madison Bowey also scored and Jackson Whistle made 28 saves for Western Hockey League champion Kelowna (1-1). The Rockets rebounded from a 4-3 loss to the host Quebec Remparts on Friday night in the tournament opener.

SURREY, England (AP) – Alexander Levy of France had rounds of 66-67 to earn one of 11 spots in the U.S. Open from the sectional qualifier yesterday in England. Levy made 14 birdies on the Old and New courses at Walton Heath to lead all qualifiers.

HOUSTON (AP) – James Harden scored a playoff career-high 45 points and the Houston Rockets led from start to finish to avoid elimination in the Western Conference finals with a 128-115 victory over the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 last night. The Rockets used a 45-point first quarter to build a big lead.
