BALTIMORE (AP) – Roenis Elias took a four-hitter into the eighth inning, Justin Ruggiano homered and the Seattle Mariners beat Wei-Yin Chen and the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 last night. Elias (1-1) allowed one run, six hits and no walks in 7 2-3 innings. The left-hander did not permit a runner past first base until the seventh inning and at one point retired 10 in a row.

UNDATED (AP) – Buster Posey hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning through a thick mist hovering above the field, Tim Lincecum won his third straight decision, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 last night for their fifth straight victory. San Francisco matched its season-high winning streak and pulled within 2½ games of NL West-leading Los Angeles.

UNDATED (AP) – The Seattle Sounders are preparing to face off this weekend against Sporting Kansas City. The Sounders are coming off a 2-0 victory against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.

UNDATED (AP) – The Portland Timbers hope to shake off their 3-1 loss against the Houston Dynamo. The Timbers will travel to Canada to face off against Toronto FC at BMO Field on Saturday.
