Nike is announcing the commitment today as Obama visits Nike headquarters in Beaverton to pitch his trade agenda.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A 24-year-old man has been arrested for getting too rough at a martial arts gym in Eugene. Police say the two had been paired up for an exercise in which physical contact was only permitted with foam rolls.

ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A man is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for a 1998 killing in Douglas County after his death sentence was overturned. The News-Review of Roseburg reports that Jesse Fanus had been convicted of aggravated murder in 1999 but his death sentence was overturned by a Marion County post-conviction relief court in 2012. SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon could become the third state to ban so-called gay conversion therapy after the Senate cleared a bill outlawing the practice. The measure makes it illegal for social workers or licensed mental health professionals to practice therapy treatments that aim to change the sexual orientation of children younger than 18.
