MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Marc Gasol had 26 points and 14 rebounds as the Memphis Grizzlies advanced to the Western Conference semifinals by beating the Portland Trail Blazers 99-93 last night. The Grizzlies reached the West semifinals for the third time in five years. They will play Game 1 on Sunday at Golden State.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Logan Morrison had a tiebreaking, two-run double to back Felix Hernandez and lead the Seattle Mariners to a 5-2 victory over the Texas Rangers last night. Seattle’s Nelson Cruz was 2 for 4, including his 10th home run to lead off the second inning.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Joc Pederson, Adrian Gonzalez and Andre Ethier homered off Ryan Vogelsong in the first inning and Jimmy Rollins hit another one off him in the third, powering the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 7-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants last night. Zack Greinke (4-0) allowed three runs and seven hits with six strikeouts.

SEATTLE (AP) – Hundreds of climbers and Sherpas attempting to climb Mount Everest from the north side when a large earthquake struck the region are packing their gear and heading out after expedition leaders said Chinese authorities closed all climbing in Tibet for the spring. A climbing guide said Chinese officials announced their decision to end the climbing season citing safety concerns.
