ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – J.A. Happ doubled his season strikeout total with nine in 6 2-3 innings, Rickie Weeks homered and the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 2-1 last night. Happ (2-1) allowed only one run and walked one. In 20 2-3 innings over his first three starts, the left-hander had nine strikeouts, three in seven innings of a loss to the Rangers.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Madison Bumgarner pitched eight sharp innings in his fifth career matchup against Clayton Kershaw and batterymate Buster Posey homered, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers last night. Santiago Casilla pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save in seven chances.

UNDATED (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers will travel to Tennessee to face off against the Memphis Grizzles tonight for Game 5. Portland is coming off a 99-92 win in Game 4. The Grizzlies are 3-1 in the seven-game series.

TUKWILA, Wash. (AP) – The mayor of the Seattle suburb of Tukwila has sent letters to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressing his support for a proposed new multipurpose arena that could house franchises for both leagues. The city released documents pertaining to the proposed arena plan yesterday after public records requests. The documents also included rough sketches of where the arena would sit, next to Interstate 405, with potential parking structures and a hotel on the property.
