Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

BEND, Ore. (AP) – Fish and wildlife commissioners are going to hear from experts tomorrow who say the gray wolf should be removed from the state’s endangered species list. The Bend Bulletin reports the wolf program coordinator will give a report that says health, survival, dispersal, habitat and habitat connectivity all indicate the gray wolf is a growing population. Eastern wolves are already delisted.

BURNS, Ore. (AP) – Fire has destroyed two buildings at the headquarters of the Burns Paiute Tribe. An emergency services coordinator says it appears the fire began early yesterday in a trailer housing computer servers and other technology. He says winds spread it to a wooden shed and then a trailer housing addiction counseling offices.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Civil Air Patrol says it’s looking for a single-engine plane that has been reported missing. The patrol says the plane left Creswell on Tuesday night and was supposed to land somewhere in Washington state. No additional information was immediately available, including if there was anyone aboard besides the pilot.

ALFALFA, Ore. (AP) – In the ranch country east of Bend, there’s some grumbling these days about a fire department that has trucks, but no chief, station or firefighters. Voters in a 64-square-mile area around Alfalfa voted in November 2013 to pay property taxes for a new fire district. The Bend Bulletin reports that other departments have donated three trucks, which are in storage. Board members say it may be a year before the department is ready to fight fires.
