Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Two police officers won’t be charged in the shooting death of 29-year-old Chelsea Fresh at her home in Beaverton. The Oregonian reports eight rounds were fired at the suspect near her Beaverton home as she pointed a rifle, later determined to be unloaded, at the officers. A toxicology report showed Fresh had a blood alcohol level of .19 percent, and antidepressant, sleep aid and anti-seizure meds in her system.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland City Council narrowly approved a 120-day experiment to allow ride-sharing companies such as Uber to operate legally while deregulating the existing cab industry. Uber launched Portland service in December, but suspended operations shortly after the city took legal action. A city task force then spent months developing recommendations that led to yesterday’s vote.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The state has filed a countersuit against the family of a Portland boy who fell 60 feet in Silver Park Falls State Park. The Statesman Journal reports 10-year-old Wilson Pelot fell in 2014 after leaning against a broken railing. Pelot’s family sued in February, seeking up to $875,000 and saying the park failed to warn visitors properly of the danger posed by the weak railing. The state’s countersuit says the Pelots were negligent by failing to properly supervise their kids while at the park.

GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. (AP) – Firefighters are expected to use 1.5 million gallons of water to put out a blaze that destroyed a Government Camp condo, prompting a boil water warning for the area. KOIN news in Portland reports officials are warning the 150 residents currently on the system that pressure will be low and that they should boil drinking water.
