SEATTLE (AP) – Luis Valbuena hit a pair of solo home runs, including a go-ahead eighth-inning shot, to give the Houston Astros a 7-5 victory over the Seattle Mariners last night. Valbuena, who started the scoring with a blast in the first inning, opened the eighth with a homer to right on 1-1 pitch from Danny Farquhar (0-1). It was his fifth this season. It was the first home run allowed by a Mariners reliever this season. Jed Lowrie added an RBI single in the inning.

UNDATED (AP) – The Vancouver Canucks travel to the Scotiabank Saddledome to face off against the Calgary Flames tonight in Game 4 of the series. The Canucks are coming off a 4-2 loss on Sunday. The Flames lead the series 2-1.

UNDATED (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers travel to the FedExForum to face off against the Memphis Grizzles tomorrow night in Game 2 of the series. The Trail Blazers are coming off a 100-86 loss against the Grizzles in Game 1.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Klay Thompson scored 26 points, Stephen Curry had 22 points and six assists and the Golden State Warriors regrouped from an early deficit to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 97-87 last night and take a 2-0 lead in their first-round series. The top-seeded Warriors fell behind by 13 points in the first quarter after a strong start by Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon quieted an announced sellout crowd of nearly 19,600 wearing golden yellow shirts. But a big burst before halftime pushed the Warriors ahead.
