Prep baseball
Forest Grove came out on top 14-3 over Siuslaw yesterday to wrap up play in the Wilsonville baseball tournament. The Vikings head home with an oh-and-four record where they’ll host Gold Beach for two games Friday afternoon.
On the college diamond
Number 22 Oregon scored three runs in the top of the 13th inning, then held on for a 10-7 victory over UC Riverside yesterday. The two teams meet again this afternoon in Riverside, California.
Michael Gretler was two-for-three and Kyle Nobach (NO-bok) was two-for-four and the Oregon State Beavers cruised to a 6-1 win over San Jose State in Corvallis. Sam Tweedt threw eight innings, striking out four and allowing three hits for his fourth win on the year. The two teams meet again this afternoon.
