WASHINGTON (AP) – After letting a 25-point lead dwindle to three, the Washington Wizards held on to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 105-97 last night, behind John Wall’s 21 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds and two blocks. The Wizards held on for their fourth consecutive victory, a streak that began right after a 4-13 stretch. LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points and 12 rebounds for Portland.

NEW YORK (AP) – The Los Angeles Dodgers will host Seattle in Major League Baseball’s annual Civil Rights Game on April 15, the 68th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s breaking the sport’s color barrier. The commissioner’s office says the game will be held in conjunction with MLB’s annual Jackie Robinson Day. The Civil Rights game started in 2007.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Sounders will continue to call CenturyLink Field home through the 2028 season after agreeing to a 10-year lease extension. The Sounders and First & Goal, which oversees operations of the stadium, announced the new lease yesterday. Seattle has led the league in attendance playing at the facility since entering Major League Soccer in 2009. The Sounders averaged 43,734 fans last season.

NOME, Alaska (AP) – Dallas Seavey is extending his lead in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. Yesterday, Seavey became the first musher to leave the checkpoint in Koyuk, taking off at 4:48 p.m. He had arrived in the village about 12:34 p.m., when he grabbed the lead from veteran musher Aaron Burmeister. Dallas’ father, Mitch Seavey, was in third place, Aliy Zirkle (AL’-ee ZUR’-kul) in fourth and Jessie Royer in fifth yesterday evening.
