LAS VEGAS (AP) – Byron Wesley scored 25 points and led a second-half run with teammate Kyle Wiltjer as top-seeded and seventh-ranked Gonzaga defeated Pepperdine 79-61 last night to reach its 18th consecutive West Coast Conference tournament championship game. Wiltjer had 17 points and Przemek Karnowski added 13 for the seventh-ranked Bulldogs (31-2), who will face the winner of the BYU-Portland game for the title. Stacy Davis scored 15 points for the Waves (18-13) but shot just 5 for 15. Jeremy Major added 12 points.

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Kyle Collinsworth recorded his sixth triple-double of the season – tying the NCAA career record – and BYU beat Portland 84-70 yesterday to advance to the West Coast Conference championship game. Collinsworth had 13 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) – Brad Miller hit two home runs and Mike Zunino also connected as the Seattle Mariners beat the Cleveland Indians 4-3 yesterday. Miller and Chris Taylor, both competing to be the starting shortstop, were in the lineup together in the absence of star second baseman Robinson Cano. He is away from the team after the death of his grandfather and expected to return Friday.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – A person with knowledge of the negotiations says free-agent cornerback Cary Williams intends on signing with the Seattle Seahawks when NFL free agency officially begins. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
