LaMarcus Aldridge had 29 points and Batum added 20 for the Northwest Division leaders, who have won four straight.
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Elgin Cook scored 17 points to lead Oregon past Oregon State 65-62 last night in a hotly contested rivalry game. PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) – Justin Upton homered and Matt Kemp went hitless in three at-bats in their debuts with the San Diego Padres, a 4-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Kemp, acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in December, grounded into a double play with runners on first and second to end the top of the sixth inning.
ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) – Students at Central Washington University are playing a new game – bubble ball soccer. Players climb into the large inflatable tube-like balls that leave their feet sticking out the bottom. The Daily Record reports games are played on the Recreation Center basketball courts. Players crash into each other at full speed and bounce off harmlessly.
