Police stopped the taxi, determined the package contained methamphetamine and took everyone to the station.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Coast Guard says it has revoked the inspection certificate for a Salem-based sternwheeler vessel that operates on the Willamette River because the Willamette Queen’s owners have not completed an out-of-water hull examination. The captain of the vessel says he can’t comply because the Army Corps of Engineers has closed the locks that lie between Salem and the nearest drydock in Portland.

CORNELIUS, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County sheriff’s office says a sex offender fondled himself at the Cornelius Library while sitting at a table across from unsuspecting children. Librarians reported suspicious behavior yesterday and showed deputies video. Later deputies booked 46-year-old David Duane Johnson into jail on charges of public indecency and failing to register as a sex offender.
