Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – State Police say they recovered numerous archaeological artifacts when they executed a search warrant at the home of a Klamath Falls man. Officers have wrapped up a seven-month-long investigation into the unlawful taking, possession and sale of such artifacts. Troopers say an extended drought has exposed many archaeological areas normally hidden by water. Oregon law says no one may remove any archaeological object located on public or private lands unless that activity is authorized by permit.

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (AP) – The sheriff of Hood River County says a 24-year-old Portland man has been found dead at the bottom of a cliff. Sheriff Matt English said Monday that Peter Bryner had been camping with others last weekend in the Surveyors Ridge area off a Forest Service road. The sheriff says it appears the man died as the result of a fall.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon businessman stranded for weeks in 2012 when he tried to fly home after a humanitarian mission to his native Libya has been notified that he is no longer on the government’s no-fly list. The Oregonian reports that Jamal Tarhuni of Tigard (TYE-gard) received the news in a letter from the Department of Homeland Security. Tarhuni is a naturalized U.S. citizen who has lived in the Portland area for more than three decades.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon gay rights group is asking the state Legislature to outlaw therapy that seeks to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of young people. The measure is part of a national push to prevent mental health care providers from practicing so-called conversion therapy.
