Utes battle it out with the Beavers

The home win streak is over for the Oregon State Beavers. Oregon State lost at Gill Coliseum last night to number 9 ranked Utah, 47-37 in a defensive slugfest. Seven minutes into the game, the score was only 5-4; Utah led 16-14 at the half. Malcom Duvivier (doo-VIV-ee-ay) led all scorers with 12 points for the Beavers who will take on Colorado tomorrow at eight pm… airtime on KCFM is at 7:30.

Oregon will host Utah Sunday at noon… airtime on KCST is at 11:30.

On the diamond…

Conor Harber threw six innings of hitless relief at PK Park yesterday and the Diamond Ducks pulled off their third come-from-behind-victory of the year, 3-1, over New Mexico State. The four game series continues today and through the weekend in Eugene.

KJ Harrison was three-for-five at the plate for the Beavers. They downed Oklahoma State 5-3 in the opening game of the Pac-12/Big-12 Challenge in Arizona. Oregon State will take on Kansas State this afternoon.

On the prep basketball court…

The Siuslaw Vikings will wrap up the Far West season at home this evening against the North Bend Bulldogs.   The girls tip off at six; the boys right after. Airtime on Coast Radio Sports is at 5:45.

The Mapleton Sailors will try to extend their season tomorrow afternoon in Eugene when they take on the Lowell Devils at 1:30. The Mountain West League playoffs are at Northwest Christian University. The winner of tomorrow’s game is assured of advancing to the opening round of the state 1A playoffs.
