Mapleton advances in Mt. West basketball playoffs.

Hunter Simington’s five steals and a second quarter rally propelled the Mapleton Sailors to a 52-41 win last night over Alsea. The victory keeps the Sailor season alive and advances them to the next round in the Mountain West League Playoffs. They’ll take on Lowell Saturday afternoon at Northwest Christian University in Eugene.

Tucker Ford scored 22 points, but as importantly, held the Wolverines’ leading scorer, Micah DeWolfe, to only 11 points on the night. Chris Free recorded another double-double… 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Ducks take sole possession of 3rd in Pac-12

Joseph Young scored 23 points and Oregon held off several second half Colorado rallies for a 73-60 victory last night at Matthew Knight Arena. The win leaves Oregon in sole possession of 3rd place in the Pac-12. Dillon Brooks added 14 points. Oregon will host Utah Sunday at noon.

 

Beavers defend home win streak tonight

Oregon State will take on the Utes this evening in Corvallis. The Beavers have lost two straight on the road, but are looking to protect a 14-game win streak at home. They tip off at eight, the pregame show on KCFM is at 7:30.

 

College baseball

Number 20 ranked Oregon baseball is at home today at PK Park for the first game of a four game series against New Mexico State. Oregon State remains in Surprise, Arizona where they’ll open the Big-12/Pac-12 preseason tournament this afternoon against Oklahoma State.
