RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman will not have surgery on his injured left elbow and will let the ligament damage heal on its own. Sherman injured his left elbow on the first play of the fourth quarter in the NFC championship game against Green Bay when his arm was pinned between Packers running back James Starks and teammate Kam Chancellor.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Sounders have added depth to their defense by signing Colombian defender Andres Correa. The 21-year-old spent the past four seasons playing for Fortaleza and Medellin in the Colombian First Division. Correa also has 10 appearances for the Colombian youth national teams, including the Colombian U-20 team that won the 2013 South American championship.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – The Iditarod Trail Committee board of directors has voted to move the start of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to Fairbanks. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the board unanimously voted to move the 1,000-mile competition because of low snow conditions in south-central Alaska. The event begins with a ceremonial start March 7 in Anchorage.

UNDATED (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers will host the Los Angeles Lakers tonight at 7. Portland is coming off a 109-98 victor over the Houston Rockets. The Lakers are coming off a 106-96 loss to the Denver Nuggets.
