Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
HEPPNER, Ore. (AP) – The Morrow County sheriff’s department says
one person has been killed in a plane crash near Heppner. KNDU
reports a second person was airlifted to a hospital with injuries
after the crash last night.

ST. PAUL, Ore. (AP) – Investigators looking into a mid-air crash
that killed a former state trooper say one of the two planes was
flown by a flight instructor and student. Authorities said they
aren’t sure whether the teacher or the pupil was controlling the
aircraft when it collided Tuesday with a plane flown by Stephen
Watson, a retired state trooper. Watson was killed when his
single-engine plane went down near Wilsonville.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. (AP) – A man shot to death last week at a
Lynnwood hotel has been identified as 48-year-old Steven G. Johnson
of Medford. The Daily Herald reports Johnson died Oct. 19 of
multiple gunshot wounds in a room with an Idaho woman who was not
injured. The Idaho man suspected of the shooting was found dead in
the parking lot. Police say the three knew each other and no one
else was involved.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – An 11-year-old boy waiting for the
school bus in the Southern Oregon community of Merlin was shot in
the leg, and state police are investigating whether a man shooting
at a deer in his front yard was responsible. Troopers say the boy
was able to walk home yesterday and contact his mother. He was
taken to a hospital in Grants Pass. State police say they seized
the .30/30 rifle as evidence.
