SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Department of Transportation says there was heavy fog early today on Interstate 5 at Salem when a vehicle crashed, resulting in a fatality. The crash occurred around 2 a.m. and restricted southbound traffic for about two hours.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A consultant’s report says Oregon’s wine business has emerged strongly from the recession, with healthy gains in acreage, the number of wineries and sales. The Capital Press reports the study by the California beverage consultant Full Glass Research also suggests the success of Oregon’s largely home-grown wine business has begun to attract more outside interest.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Eugene police say an argument between a woman and her boyfriend escalated into shoving and hitting, with the boyfriend’s dog biting the woman. The Register-Guard reports the 26-year-old victim was taken to a hospital Sunday night and police were notified of an assault that included a dog bite to the leg.

NEW YORK (AP) – The Trail Blazers had an unexpected night off last night after their game with the Brooklyn Nets was postponed due to a winter storm hitting the New York City area. A game between the Sacramento Kings and New York Nets was also postponed. The Trail Blazers-Nets game was rescheduled for Monday, April 6.
