Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports:

Oregon State was able to hold on down the stretch for a 66-55 over UCLA last night in Corvallis. It was the Beavers’ 11th straight win at home this season. Oregon State led by 17 early in the second half, but the Bruins came charging back to cut the lead to two with 9:28 remaining. Gary Payton II had 18 points and five steals; Malcom Duvivier added 19.

The Beavers will face USC tomorrow afternoon at three. The pregame show on KCFM begins at 2:30.

Oregon held off the Trojans in Eugene last night, snapping a two-game losing streak and winning 75-67. It wasn’t always easy though. The Ducks appeared to be squandering another second half lead before rallying with nine points to snap a 61-all tie. Joseph Young led scoring for Oregon with 19 points; Elgin Cook added 15. Jordan Bell blocked three more shots, bringing his freshman season total to 66 and adding to his single season UO record. It also moves him to number eight on the all-time career list. The Ducks will host UCLA tomorrow at one… the pregame show on KCST is at 12:30.

On the prep schedule… the Siuslaw Vikings host their first Far West basketball contest of the year tonight when they take on the South Umpqua Lancers. The girls tip off at six, the boys immediately following. The pregame show on Coast Radio Sports is at 5:45.

The Mapleton Sailors are on the court at home against McKenzie at six.

On the wrestling mats… Siuslaw will be one of seven teams at the Sutherlin Classic in northern Douglas County tomorrow morning at ten.
