TIGARD, Ore. (AP) – Police say a woman was killed early this morning when she stepped into the path of a tow truck on Pacific Highway in Tigard. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Witnesses told police it appears the woman stepped into the northbound lane as the tow truck approached.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A judge has sentenced a 21-year-old Portland man to lifetime psychiatric supervision for the March 2012 murder of his father. Jacob Simon was charged with stabbing his father to death and wounding his mother as they slept. A jury found Simon guilty except for insanity.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Public health officials in Oregon’s Lane County say they have confirmed a case of measles that’s liked to an outbreak at Disney’s Southern California theme parks. A Eugene man in his 40s who went with his family to a Disney park and began showing symptoms after returning home. Cases linked to the Disney parks have also been reported in California, Utah, Washington, Colorado and Mexico.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The federal government and two Oregon blueberry producers have settled a dispute over allegations farm workers were paid less than the minimum wage. A federal judge put a hold on a $220,000 fine in 2012 when the growers complained that the U.S. Department of Labor threatened to block shipment of their perishable crop.
