PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Authorities recovered some of the items allegedly stolen from a federal officer’s unmarked vehicle last month but say a police radio, more than a dozen rounds of ammunition and $4,000 are still missing. The U.S. Marshals Service says Mark A. Wicklund admitted that he broke into the unoccupied car in Portland on Dec. 16. The Oregonian reports that court records show investigators searched Wicklund’s home and seized a flashlight and tourniquet taken from the marshal’s car.

ONTARIO, Ore. (AP) -An economic development official is exploring whether eastern Oregon and western Idaho could support production of pumpkin seeds for healthy snack foods. Kit Kamo of the Snake River Economic Development Alliance tells The Argus Observer that at least one food company is seeking a U.S. producer of pumpkin seeds. She says American retailers prefer to buy domestic foods, but most pumpkin seeds in snack foods come from China.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Department of Transportation is getting ready to start a renovation of the Highway 101 bridge over the Siuslaw River in Florence. The four-year, $37 million project is supposed to prevent corrosion and extend the bridge’s life by at least two decades, but the construction will cause intermittent traffic delays.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Alaska State Troopers say an Oregon man died in what appears to be an accident while climbing Mount Yukla. Troopers say Dasan Marshall of Portland, Oregon, was climbing with a friend on Sunday when he fell about 1,000 feet. Because of the terrain in the Chugach Mountains about 6 miles from the Eagle River Nature Center, a helicopter was used to recover 24-year-old Marshall’s body.
