DALLAS (AP) – Ohio State and Oregon meet tonight in college football’s first true championship game at AT&T Stadium in Dallas Oregon and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota are in search of the program’s first title. Ohio State is looking for its fifth championship and first under coach Urban Meyer. Both teams will be playing their 15th game of the season.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Two new wrongful death lawsuits have been filed in Portland connection with a helicopter crash in Peru two years ago that killed five Americans and two Peruvians. The Oregonian reports that families of six of the seven people who died have filed suit against Oregon-based Columbia Helicopters. An attorney representing the company did not return a call for comment.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A longtime Eugene criminal defense attorney has had his law license suspended because he failed to pay nearly $400,000 in federal taxes and penalties. The Register-Guard reports that the Oregon State Bar suspended John Kolego’s license for 90 days. Kolego admitted he had not properly deducted federal taxes from his employees’ wages or paid the government the withheld amounts.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $2.33. That’s down 13 cents in a week and 54 cents in a month, but it’s 20 cents higher than the national average. Some metro prices from AAA’s Monday survey: Portland $2.34, Salem $2.28, Eugene-Springfield $2.34, and Medford-Ashland $2.29.
