PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland City Council will let voters decide how to pay for street repairs. Mayor Charlie Hales says that voters in May will be presented with a list of funding options. The one that gets the most votes will be scheduled for adoption by the council. Details of the various plans will be discussed at a public hearing tonight.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Clackamas County sheriff’s office says a 62-year-old suburban Portland man who fell while climbing on Mount Hood has been rescued. Authorities say Edward Trompke of Lake Oswego fell and slid about 200 feet, injuring his shoulder and hitting his head. The man was climbing with his son and they called 911 since his injuries left him unable to continue down the mountain.
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Police in the southern Oregon city of Medford are looking for a burglar who hit three homes, netting electronic items and a gun and letting out a pet dog that was later fatally struck by a car. The crimes were reported after homeowners returned from work.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A woman who wore a blond wig and faked a British accent as part of an elaborate con that duped an Oregon man of millions of dollars has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Porsha Lee will be sentenced April 15. The 25-year-old Lee got involved in the scheme through her mother, a psychic who met the victim in 2004.
