PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say the owner of a Portland stripper bar who was shot during an apparent robbery has died. Police say an autopsy yesterday confirmed that 54-year-old Craig Matthew Desmarais (DEH’-mah-ray) died over the weekend as a result of the shooting Dec. 22. He was killed at Tommy’s Too in southeast Portland.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Court of Appeals has ruled that the state Water Resources Department failed to limit the amount of water cities and water districts can draw from the lower Clackamas River so that there would be enough water left in the river for threatened and endangered salmon. The ruling last week says the withdrawals permitted by the department were not supported by evidence or reason.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Influential Oregon business groups are outlining their agenda for the upcoming legislative session, calling for a focus on education, infrastructure and natural resources. The annual Oregon Business Summit is scheduled for today in Portland. Gov. John Kitzhaber, U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden and state legislative leaders will speak to a group of executives, lobbyists and lawmakers.

SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) – Seaside officials are considering an expansion of the convention center in hopes of keeping up with the regional competition. A new consultant’s report says it would cost about $25 million. A study compares the Seaside facility to others such as the Salishan resort in Gleneden Beach, the Sunriver Resort in Central Oregon and convention facilities in Salem and Bend. Officials say financing recommendations will be developed and go to the City Council.
