PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – At least three Oregonians have died in fires this week. In Klamath Falls, Fire Marshal Scott Rice tells KFLS radio David Michael Lyman and his dog were found dead as a result of a burning cigarette tossed into a trash container Monday night. GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – A defense lawyer says a 15-year-old boy who shot and killed his foster father and another man at a hunting cabin in northeastern Oregon never meant to kill anyone. Katie Berger said yesterday that the boy had the emotional maturity of a 9-year-old after years of abuse, foster care and juvenile treatment.
