PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A federal judge has scheduled a Dec. 23 hearing on the city of Portland’s request for a restraining order to force online ridesharing business Uber to stop operating in Portland. The Oregonian reports that the judge ruled that Uber had proven it is an out-of-state company at risk of losing significant profits because of enforcement of local regulations. An Uber spokeswoman has said the company will continue to operate in Portland.

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) – A ski coach in Central Oregon has been removed from driving duty while school and State Police officials review a Nov. 22 accident that saw a bus carrying a high school ski team go off the road, over a bank, and roll twice. The Bend Bulletin reports one student was treated for a minor injury. The Crook County High coach said he hit a patch of unexpected slush in Bend.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon man has been arraigned on federal charges alleging he produced child pornography for more than a decade and traveled to the Philippines to have sex with kids. Steven Rockett pleaded not guilty in Portland. He remains in custody at the Washington County Jail.

OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon man whose post-Halloween rampage included road rage and pumpkin hurling has been sentenced to 60 days in jail. The Oregonian reports that prosecutors say 26-year-old Kierson Bisenius was legally drunk and on heroin on Nov. 2 when he began yelling at a woman he was driving behind in suburban Happy Valley and followed her to her home.
