PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police have arrested the second of three people believed to be involved in a shooting outside a Portland high school. Police said yesterday that 18-year-old Marquel Dugas was arrested on a probation violation, and they are working to identify a third person connected with Friday’s shooting. Police earlier arrested 22-year-old Lonzo Murphy in connection with the shooting.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police have cited a protester who was injured by a motorist as he blocked street traffic with a group of demonstrators on Saturday. Julian Rist suffered a foot and ankle injury after the driver of an SUV ran into him about 3:15 p.m. Police say that after an investigation, Rist was cited for improper position on a highway. Sgt. Pete Simpson says the driver was not cited.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Marion County sheriff’s office says it’s investigating the death of an 18-year-old student who collapsed in her room at a Native American boarding school in Salem. The sheriff’s office says it doesn’t suspect foul play, but the U.S. attorney’s office has ordered an autopsy out of precaution. Emergency personnel called to Chemawa Indian School at 7:30 a.m. yesterday were unable to resuscitate the teen.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Officials say two firefighters were injured yesterday while fighting a blaze at a home in Eugene. Deputy Chief Randy DeWitt of the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department says both firefighters were treated and released from hospitals and were at home recovering. The people living there were out of the home when fire crews arrived.
