Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police suspect a drug operation may have been the source of an explosion that injured one person and broke glass at an apartment complex in Portland’s Centennial neighborhood. KOIN reports a bomb squad was dispatched about 1 a.m. today after officers responding to reports of a disturbance found evidence of the blast.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police in Eugene have arrested a man accused of trying to hire a hit man to run a neighbor off the road. Police said they arrested 57-year-old Jeffrey Leonard on charges of solicitation for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Police say a jail inmate told a deputy that Leonard hired him to kill his neighbor by ramming his vehicle into a pole on Highway 99. Records show Leonard was arrested earlier this year on charges of contempt of court and violating a restraining order.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon is moving toward joining a growing number of states that allow small businesses to pick up a large number of small investors through crowdfunding. Many businesses already use crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter to raise money from hundreds or thousands of people, but the money is a donation, not an investment. Ordinary Oregonians ponying up no more than $2,500 could reap financial rewards or even own a sliver of the company.

NEW YORK (AP) – LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points and the Portland Trail Blazers overcame blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter to beat the New York Knicks 103-99 last night for their fourth straight victory. The Knicks lost their eighth straight and 12th in their last 13. The Trail Blazers have won five straight games over New York.
