PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Mike Scott and Connor Hill both scored 19 points last night to lead Idaho to a 77-71 nonconference win over Washington State. Sekou Wiggs added 12 points for the Vandals (3-3), who had lost 11 consecutive games against Washington State (3-4) since a 62-58 victory on Dec. 4, 2002. The Cougars had defeated Idaho in 13 straight home games since losing 56-52 on Dec. 14, 1989.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Alex Wintering scored a career-high 27 points to lead Portland to an 83-71 win over rival Portland State last night. The Pilots (6-1), off to their best start since going 6-0 in 1995-96 when they last made the NCAA Tournament, were up 27 when the Vikings (4-2) went on a late 18-2 run to trail by 11 with 3:22 left, forcing Portland starters back into the game.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have traded outfielder Michael Saunders to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for veteran left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ. Happ, 31, appeared in 30 games and made 26 starts for the Blue Jays last season. He went 11-11 with a 4.22 ERA in 158 innings.
