PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon ballot measure that would require labels for genetically engineered foods may be heading for an automatic recount. The measure appeared to have been rejected, but results released yesterday by Multnomah County pushed the margin of defeat to a mere 0.1 percent.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The legal dispute over the failed Cover Oregon health insurance website goes before a federal judge on today. U.S. District Judge Anna Brown will hear arguments over whether the case should remain in her courtroom or be transferred to state court. The State of Oregon and technology giant Oracle Inc., have sued each other over the failed website.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Tens of thousands of immigrants who lack legal status and reside in Oregon could be eligible for protection from deportation and a federal permit to work legally under a plan announced by President Barack Obama. About 64,000 people in Oregon could be shielded from deportation under Obama’s action, according to the Migration Policy Institute.
CEDAR MILL, Ore. (AP) – A 70-year-old Portland man has died from injuries he suffered in a bicycle-truck collision in Washington County. The Washington County sheriff’s department says the crash yesterday happened at an intersection in the community of Cedar Mill.
