PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The estate of a young woman who was mauled to death by a cougar while working at a suburban Portland wild cat sanctuary is suing the sanctuary and its owners. The lawsuit against Wildcat Haven alleges Renee Radziwon-Chapman was left alone with the animals despite expressing concerns about working solo. The sanctuary owners did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Searchers have rescued four men who lost their way en route to Bagby Hot Springs in Oregon’s Mount Hood National Forest and got their rented SUV stuck overnight in more than a foot of snow. Marion County deputies say rescuers found the four southwest Washington men yesterday afternoon, pulled their vehicle from the snow and led them to a safer area.

GALVA, Kan. (AP) – Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of an Oregon man whose body was found in a central Kansas ditch. The man was identified yesterday as 39-year-old James E. Croft, who was originally from Portland. The sheriff’s office said it has three people of interest in the case but few other details about the case were released.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A man called the Where’s Waldo bandit has been sentenced in Portland to five years in prison. The Oregonian reports police gave Ryan Homsley his nickname from photos of a 2010 robbery in Tualatin that showed him wearing a striped shirt and glasses like the Where’s Waldo cartoon character. Homsley was released from prison in that case in 2013. Six days later he robbed a Portland bank.
