Siuslaw football standout Kenneth Thrall is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the week. The Viking kicker and punter was named to the Far West All-League Second Team at both positions last week. The senior was good on 79-of-92 career “point-after” attempts as a Viking, ending his career with an .859 average, the second highest ever in Siuslaw history.

Honorable Mention is given to Viking Volleyball standout Elyssa Rose. The sophomore middle-blocker was recognized by Far West League coaches as a first team selection at that position.

Ducks Down Detroit

On the court last night, senior Jalil Abdul-Bassit scored a career high 17-points and Oregon cruised to an 83-66 win over Detroit in the opening game of the Legends Classic at Matthew Knight Arena. The Ducks will host Toledo Friday afternoon before moving on to Brooklyn next week for the final two games of the series.

Oregon State is on the court tonight at Gill Coliseum where they’ll host Corban University at seven. Airtime on KCFM is set for 6:30.
