Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Falling trees disrupted Portland’s commute yesterday afternoon and evening. The St. Johns Bridge was closed in both directions for more than an hour as crews removed a downed tree. Another tree blocked the Yellow Line of Portland light rail. Other downed trees in the Portland metro area brought down power lines and blocked side streets. A tree fell on a cyclist, who sustained traumatic, but not life-threatening injuries.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon gasoline prices have reached a 4-year low. The Register-Guard reports the average price for unleaded gas in Oregon is $3.07. That’s a 47 cent decrease from a month ago. Triple-A says the highest price of gas this year was $3.98 a gallon on July 3. Gas is available for less than $3 at some stations.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – The Portland-Vancouver community is being encouraged to take part in a scavenger hunt for AEDs – automated external defibrillators – so authorities can build a database to help 911 operators. The hunt is being organized by the Oregon Health and Science University Department of Emergency Medicine and the University of Washington.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon election officials say 13,000 voters whose ballots were rejected have one more week to fix problems with their signature on the envelope. Election officials sent letters to the affected voters, and their names will be made public today. Voters who forgot to sign their ballot envelope can have their votes counted by signing it in person at their county elections office.
