PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Prosecutors in Oregon’s largest county are dropping marijuana-related charges against 50 people after voters supported legalizing the drug for recreational use. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office told The Oregonian that it will continue prosecuting cases that won’t be impacted by the ballot measure, which will allow adults 21 and older to possess certain amounts of pot and pot plants.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland man suspected of killing his ex-wife before taking his own life used social media hours before the crime to post videos of the two of them arguing over their children and their relationship. Police say detectives are analyzing the videos Ian Elias posted. The couple had two children, who were later found safe at the house of Ian Elias’ new wife.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – State regulators have levied fines totaling $16,000 for gross negligence in the deaths of some 1,000 bees killed by pesticides sprayed on flowering trees at a Eugene apartment complex last June. Glass Tree Care and Spray Service in Eugene did not immediately return a call for comment. The department says the company and the applicator should have known about the prohibition on that pesticide.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland Mayor Charlie Hales has proposed a $46 million street fee that commissioners could approve without a public vote. If council approves, Portland residents will pay a tax for street improvements starting in April 2016. The amount would vary based on income. A council vote is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 3.
