SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Parity is giving way to clarity in the Pac-12 race. After two months of muddled standings, the road to the conference championship game – and a possible spot in the four-team College Football Playoff – is paved for a pair of Pac-12 teams now. Oregon (8-1, 5-1) has a near-insurmountable lead in the North Division after rolling past Stanford last Saturday. In the South, No. 11 Arizona State (7-1, 5-1, No. 9 CFP) is alone at the top.

UNDATED (AP) – The Vancouver Canucks travel to the SAP Center to face off against the San Jose Sharks tonight. The Canucks are coming off a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. Nick Bonino scored two goals, Ryan Miller made 20 saves and the Canucks overcame an early deficit.

KAMLOOPS, British Columbia (AP) – Haley Irwin and Rebecca Johnston scored in a 1:27 span late in the third period and Canada beat the United States 3-2 last night in the Four Nations Cup women’s hockey tournament. The round-robin game was the first between the teams since Canada’s 3-2 overtime victory in the Olympic gold-medal game in February in Sochi.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – DeMarcus Cousins had 30 points and 11 rebounds, Rudy Gay scored 29 and the Sacramento Kings beat the Denver Nuggets 131-109 last night to extend their best start in more than a decade. The Kings improved to 4-1 for the first time since 2001-02, when they won the Pacific Division and grabbed the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
