PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – After tens of millions of dollars, thousands of television commercials and an untold number of phone calls and handshakes, the election is now in the hands of the voters. Voters have only today to decide who will be Oregon’s next governor and U.S. senator. Control of the state Legislature is up for grabs, along with a host of local races around the state.

JOSEPH, Ore. (AP) – A small earthquake struck northeast Oregon yesterday morning. The U.S. Geological Survey said it was of magnitude 3.4. The geology agency says the earthquake was centered five miles east of Joseph on the north flank of the Wallowa Mountains. It was about 8 miles deep.

RUCH, Ore. (AP) – A Grants Pass pilot who encountered engine trouble on a flight to Southern California made an emergency landing and flipped his plane in a muddy hay field in Oregon’s Applegate Valley. But he walked away unhurt. Fire officials say 57-year-old James Nance put the craft down near Ruch (ROOSH).

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – A California man has been reunited with the dog who vanished seven months ago while the owner was in southern Oregon for fire training. The Herald and News reports a spokesman with Klamath County Animal Control says someone brought the dog P.J. in to register her. But it turns out that Jess Grillo originally adopted his dog from the Klamath Animal Shelter in 2011 and she had a microchip that linked to his contact information.
