PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Republican governor candidate Dennis Richardson is accusing Democratic Gov. John Kitzhaber of hiding from the press and public. Richardson is dialing up his rhetoric as he seeks a come-from-behind victory in the race for Oregon governor. He demanded that Kitzhaber release public records that have been requested by news organizations. A spokeswoman for Kitzhaber says Richardson is getting desperate.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of a Eugene woman who tortured and killed her 15-year-old daughter. Angela McAnulty pleaded guilty to aggravated murder on the day her trial was set to begin in 2011. She’s the only woman on Oregon’s death row. Gov. John Kitzhaber has placed a moratorium on executions during his time in office.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say the deaths of two people in an East Portland home are suspicious. Officers were called to the home on Thursday and found a deceased man and woman who appeared to be in their 50s or 60s. Homicide detectives were called in, but police have not said what makes the deaths suspicious.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – The American arm of a German maker of solar panels says it will add 200 jobs in the Portland suburb Hillsboro, reversing several years of cutbacks. SolarWorld Industries America Inc. said it plans to invest $10 million and expand production capacity in early 2015.
