SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oracle Corp. is appealing to Oregon legislative leaders in its legal fight over the failed Cover Oregon health insurance website. In a letter, Oracle’s chief executive suggests that the Legislature should pull funding for the lawsuit. She argues that a draft report by a corporate turnaround expert supports Oracle’s view that the website failed because of state mismanagement. Oracle and the state of Oregon have sued each other over the website.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) – Workers at a Springfield hospital are on a three-day strike over negotiations for a new contract. The strike involves about 340 workers at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center. They say the hospital has proposed increases in health care costs that would more than offset the raises offered. A hospital spokeswoman refused to answer questions about replacement workers.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – Human remains found earlier this month in Klamath County have been identified as those of a Washington state man missing since 2012. The sheriff’s office said indications at the time Joseph Marsh disappeared suggested he was despondent, and an autopsy has confirmed that the cause of death was suicide. A mushroom picker found his remains Oct. 23.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 29-year-old terminally ill woman who plans to take her life under Oregon’s death-with-dignity law has fulfilled a wish on her bucket list: She visited the Grand Canyon. Brittany Maynard visited the national park with her family last week. Maynard has become an advocate for a group that seeks to expand death-with-dignity laws around the nation.
