RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks welcomed the Marysville-Pilchuck High School football team to practice at their facility yesterday following last week’s deadly shooting at the school. Student Jaylen Fryberg opened fired at the school’s cafeteria on Friday, killing two students and injuring three others. Fryberg committed suicide. The Marysville-Pilchuck football team was scheduled to play against Oak Harbor high school in a district championship. On Monday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll invited both teams.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Sounders and forward Obafemi Martins have agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the striker coming off an MVP-caliber regular season. The Sounders announced the deal Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not announced by the club. ESPN reported late last week that it’s a two-year deal.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri will have surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Valeri was injured in Saturday’s 2-nil shutout of FC Dallas. The team said Tuesday that the 28-year-old Valeri’s surgery will be scheduled once the injury is stabilized.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Boise State says it will begin offering cost of attendance scholarships for all sports should NCAA rules be changed. The school announced its plans on Tuesday. Athletic director Mark Coyle says the intent is to provide support for more than just the Broncos’ successful football program.
