Cheesemakers Edge Vikings in V-Ball Playoff

It came down to the wire last night on the volleyball court, but the Tillamook Cheesemakers held on to edge the Siuslaw Vikings in five games to claim victory in the “Play-In” round of the OSAA state playoffs. The Mooks came out on top 15-13 in the final set.

Elyssa Rose had 13 kills and four stuff blocks; Trista Lane: five kills and Claire Waggoner had eight perfect serve-receive passes and two kills… plus contributed several key defensive plays.

Mans Repeats as Athlete of the Week

Siuslaw Cross Country standout Celie Mans is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the week. The sophomore distance runner paced the girls’ team to their 12^th straight District Cross Country Title and currently holds the fourth fastest time in the state in the 4A ranks.

Honorable mention… Sierra Potter. The junior harrier was third overall at the Far West District meet with a time of 20:39.62.
